Payout timing and holds
Why there's a short hold after a tour, and when to expect your money to arrive.

Getting paid after a tour follows a short, predictable process — here's the full timeline and what can affect it.
The timeline, step by step
| Stage | When it happens |
|---|---|
| Tour ends | The final day of your booking (single day or the last day of a multi-day trip). |
| Booking marked completed | Shortly after the tour ends. |
| 48-hour hold | Starts the moment the tour ends and runs for 48 hours. |
| Eligible for payout | As soon as the hold clears, assuming no dispute and a complete payout profile. |
| Included in a payout batch | The next Wednesday after you become eligible. |
| Money sent | During that Wednesday's manual review and transfer. |
| Arrives in your account | A few business days later, depending on your bank. |
Worked examples
- Tour ends Saturday. Your 48-hour hold clears Monday. With most of the week still ahead, you're eligible well before that week's Wednesday batch.
- Tour ends Monday. Your hold clears Wednesday — right around that week's payout review. Depending on exactly when the review happens, you'll land in that Wednesday's batch or the very next one.
- Tour ends Thursday. Your hold clears Saturday, after that week's Wednesday has already passed. You'll be included in the following Wednesday's batch instead.
In practice, the later in the week your tour ends, the more likely your payout rolls into the Wednesday after next, simply because the 48-hour hold pushes you past that week's cutoff.
What can delay a payout
- An open dispute on the booking. If a traveler flags a completed tour (they have 48 hours after completion to do so), payout is held until our team resolves it. See Cancel a booking as a guide for how we handle issues with a booking generally.
- An incomplete payout profile. Missing bank details, an address, or a SWIFT/BIC (or local routing code) will hold your payout until it's filled in — this is the single most common cause of a delay. See Set up your payout details.
- Bank holidays or your bank's own processing time. Once a transfer is sent, how quickly it lands depends on your bank and country — this is outside our control after the transfer leaves.
