Taxes and your earnings

Why you're responsible for your own tax obligations, and what to keep for your records.

Guiding on Rainbow Tour Guides means you're earning income, and — like any income — it may be taxable where you live. Here's what you need to know.

Your responsibility

You're responsible for reporting and paying any taxes that apply to your earnings under the laws where you live and work. Rainbow Tour Guides doesn't withhold tax from your payouts, and we can't provide tax advice — every country and situation is different, so we'd always recommend checking with a local tax professional if you're unsure what applies to you.

Keeping records

Every payout is tied to specific completed bookings, and your full earnings history — including individual booking amounts and payout batches — is available anytime on Payouts. Keeping your own copies of this as you go makes tax time much easier.

If your details change

If you move to a different country or your tax situation changes, that doesn't affect your Rainbow Tour Guides account directly — but it's worth updating your payout profile's address and bank details to match. See Set up your payout details.
