Your application status, explained
What "under review," "approved," and "not approved this time" mean, and what to expect at each stage.

After you submit your application, it moves through a short review process. Here's what each status means.
Draft
While you're still filling out onboarding, your application is a draft. Nothing is submitted yet, and nothing is visible to travelers. You can leave and come back anytime — your progress is saved step by step.
Under review (pending)
Once you hit Submit Application, your status changes to pending and a real person on our team reviews it. This normally takes 24 to 48 hours. You'll see an "under review" notice if you return to onboarding, and we'll notify you by email once a decision is made.
Approved
If you're approved, your profile goes live immediately and travelers can start booking you. Your verification documents are deleted from our systems the moment this happens. See After your application is approved for your next steps.
Not approved this time
If your application isn't approved, you'll see the reason (when one is given) on your onboarding page and in an email from us. This isn't necessarily final — you're welcome to update your profile and resubmit. Common reasons include an unclear or expired ID photo, an incomplete profile, or details that don't yet meet our standards. Review the feedback, make the change, and submit again whenever you're ready.
What review does not check
Approval decisions are based on your profile and identity verification — not on your response time to future booking requests. Once you're guiding, pending booking requests never expire and you're never penalized for how quickly you respond.
