How to write a great guide profile

Tips for your tagline, bio, and tour description that help travelers pick you with confidence.

Travelers choose a guide based on what they read as much as what they see. A little care on your profile text goes a long way toward getting booked.

The three text fields that matter most

  • Tagline — a short, punchy line that sums up your tours. Think of it as your headline: "Street food and drag bars after dark," not "Experienced local guide."
  • Bio — this is about you: who you are, your connection to the city, and why you love showing it to LGBTQ+ travelers. A sentence or two on your own story builds trust fast.
  • Tour description — this is about the experience: what a traveler will actually do, see, and feel on a tour with you. Be specific — name neighborhoods, describe a moment, mention the kind of traveler who'll love it.

What makes a profile convert

  • Be specific, not generic. "We'll wander the old town, stop at my favorite rooftop bar, and I'll tell you the real history behind the cathedral" beats "I'll show you the best spots in the city."
  • Lead with what makes you different. Your specialties (nightlife, food, art, history, and more) and the languages you speak are searchable — make sure they're filled in and accurate.
  • Write for the traveler, not for yourself. Focus on what they'll experience, not a list of your credentials.
  • Keep it warm and welcoming. Many travelers are looking for a guide who understands LGBTQ+ travel specifically — your bio is a good place to signal that in your own words.
  • Proofread. A profile with typos reads as less trustworthy, especially to a traveler meeting you for the first time.
