Accept or decline a booking request
What happens when you accept or decline a request, and how payment and chat unlock afterward.

When a traveler requests a tour, it lands in your bookings as pending. You can accept or decline it from Bookings.
Accepting a request
Accepting moves the booking to accepted and starts the payment step for the traveler. If they've saved a card and turned on auto-charge, payment may happen automatically right when you accept; otherwise, they'll get a secure payment link. Either way, the booking only becomes confirmed once payment actually goes through.
Declining a request
If a request doesn't work for you — wrong dates, a mismatch with what you offer, or anything else — you can decline it. Declining doesn't affect your profile or your standing as a guide in any way.
No deadline, no penalty
There's no countdown on a pending request. Take the time you need to check your calendar and decide — you're never penalized for response time, and requests don't expire on their own. See Manage your availability and requests.
The price is locked in
Whatever price applied when the traveler made the request is the price for that booking, even if you change your rates before you accept. See Understand tour pricing.
Still need help?
If a request seems wrong — an unusual group size, dates outside your availability, or anything that doesn't look right — you can always decline and, if something feels off, contact us.
