Understand tour pricing

Every guide sets their own base price, and Rainbow Tour Guides adds one simple, fixed fee on top. There are no hidden charges and no surprise line items at checkout — what you see on the guide's profile is what your total is built from.

The traveler service fee

You pay the guide's base price plus a 10% Traveler Service Fee. That fee covers payment processing, verification, support, and the safety systems that keep the marketplace running — it's the same 10% on every booking, and it's separate from what the guide earns. For example, a $100 base price becomes a $110 total.

Why the fee is worth it

The service fee is what makes it possible to verify every guide, hold payments securely until a tour is confirmed, and have a support team available if something goes wrong. It's non-refundable even if you later cancel — see Cancel or request a refund for how that works.

Group size changes the base price, not the fee rate

A guide's listed price covers up to 2 travelers. Each additional traveler, from the 3rd through the 8th, adds 50% of the base price. The 10% service fee is then calculated on that new, larger subtotal. See Group size and extra travelers for the full breakdown with examples.

Duration and multi-day tours

Guides set separate prices for the tour lengths they offer — 4, 6, or 8 hours. Some guides also accept multi-day bookings of 1 to 7 consecutive days, with a duration chosen for each day; the total is the sum of each day's price before the service fee is applied. Your price is locked in when you request

The exact price you see is captured the moment you send your booking request. If the guide changes their listed rates afterward, it has no effect on your pending, accepted, or confirmed booking — you always pay the price you requested at.
