Saved cards and auto-charge

Save a card for faster checkout, and optionally let acceptance trigger payment automatically.

If you book tours regularly, you can save a card to your account so checkout is faster — and optionally skip checkout entirely by letting payment happen automatically the moment a guide accepts.

Add a saved card

Go to Billing & Payments in your account settings and add a card. It's stored securely with Stripe — Rainbow Tour Guides never sees or stores your full card number, only the card brand and last 4 digits so you can recognize it later.

Turn on auto-charge for a booking

When you have a saved card, the booking request form on a guide's profile shows a checkbox: "Automatically charge my saved card when the guide accepts." Turn it on for that specific request, and if the guide accepts, your card is charged immediately for the full total (base price plus the 10% service fee) without you needing to return and complete checkout.

If auto-charge doesn't go through

Occasionally an automatic charge can fail — an expired card, an insufficient limit, or a bank decline. If that happens, you're not left stuck: you'll get the standard secure checkout link instead, and your booking follows the same path as if you'd never opted into auto-charge.

Auto-charge is set per request

Turning auto-charge on doesn't change how future bookings behave — you choose it again (or leave it off) each time you send a request. It also has no effect on a request that's still pending; nothing is charged until the guide actually accepts.

Manage or remove a saved card

You can remove a saved card at any time from Billing & Payments. Doing so doesn't affect bookings that have already been paid — it only affects future checkouts and auto-charge.
