Payment reminders

Why we email you if a booking is accepted but not yet paid, and what to do when you get one.

For travelers1 min readUpdated September 24, 2026

If a guide accepts your request and you haven't finished checkout yet, we'll send you a reminder rather than letting the booking sit unconfirmed.

Why you might get a reminder

A booking only becomes confirmed once payment is captured — being accepted isn't enough on its own. If some time passes after acceptance and payment still hasn't gone through, we email you a reminder with a link straight back to checkout.

If your tour is coming up soon

If your trip date is close and payment is still outstanding, you may get a more urgent reminder so you don't miss out on a confirmed tour. Our team may also be notified in these cases so we can help if you're running into a problem completing checkout.

What to do when you get one

Open the link in the reminder email and complete checkout the same way described in Pay for a booking. If checkout isn't working for you, see Checkout or a payment link is not working rather than waiting for another reminder.

Guides are never penalized for waiting

These reminders are about your payment, not your guide's response time. Pending requests never auto-expire, and guides are never penalized for how long they take to respond to a request — see Waiting for a guide to respond.

Still need help?

If you no longer want the tour after accepting a reminder, contact us rather than simply ignoring it — an accepted-but-unpaid booking can otherwise sit indefinitely.
