Email and notification preferences

Control marketing and newsletter emails separately from the essential emails about your bookings.

Marketing emails and essential account emails are handled completely separately, so turning one off never affects the other.

Essential emails always send

Booking updates, payment reminders, security notices, and support replies aren't optional — they're tied to your account activity and keep sending regardless of your marketing preferences. Accepting the Terms of Service when you sign up doesn't opt you into either marketing or the newsletter; those are separate, optional choices.

Marketing and newsletter are two independent choices

At Email preferences you'll find two separate toggles:

  • Marketing emails: destination ideas, new guides, and platform news.
  • Community newsletter: city guides and community stories.

Turning one off leaves the other exactly as it is — unsubscribing from marketing doesn't touch your newsletter subscription, and vice versa.

The single toggle in your dashboard settings

The marketing toggle inside your Identity & Privacy or guide settings page controls both consents together as one switch. If you want to manage marketing and the newsletter independently rather than as a pair, use the dedicated email preferences page instead.

Unsubscribing from an email

Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, which turns off both marketing and newsletter emails at once, the same as turning off both toggles on the preferences page.
