Accessibility and special requests

Where to tell your guide about accessibility needs, dietary restrictions, or must-see spots.

For travelers2 min readUpdated September 24, 2026

If there's something your guide should know before your tour — a mobility need, a dietary restriction, a place you'd love to visit — there's a place to say so when you book.

The Special requests field

When you fill in your booking request, you'll find a Special requests box near the bottom of the form. It's optional, but it's the right place for accessibility needs, food preferences, must-see spots, or anything else that would help your guide plan a tour that works for you.

This note is sent to the guide along with the rest of your request, so they can see it before they even decide whether to accept.

Meeting location notes

Separately from special requests, if you choose a hotel pickup or a custom meeting point, you'll get a text box to describe exactly where that is — your hotel name and address, or the full address of your preferred spot. Keep accessibility notes in the Special requests field and meeting details in the meeting location field so both land where your guide expects to find them.

Be specific

A general note like "wheelchair accessible route" is useful, but a specific one — "I use a manual wheelchair and need step-free access" — helps your guide plan an actual route rather than guess. The more concrete you are, the more your guide can do with the information before you even arrive.

After you've booked

Your special requests stay attached to your booking. If something changes after you've sent your request, you can add more detail once your booking is confirmed and chat unlocks — see Message your guide. If your request hasn't been accepted yet, you'll need to cancel it and send a new one with updated notes, since there's currently no way to edit a request in place.
