Working with the LGBTQ+ community as an historian and tour guide offers a powerful way to uncover hidden history, foster social inclusion, and tap into a highly engaged cultural tourism market.

Historically, queer narratives have been systematically erased, minimized, or overlooked in mainstream urban history. For a professional committed to delivering verídicas (truthful) and critical history without prejudice, this community represents a vital and deeply rewarding area of focus.

Malaga and Andalusia have rich, complex histories regarding LGBTQ+ communities—from the underground resilience during past regimes (such as the vibrant history of Torremolinos in the 1960s and 70s) to the shifting social dynamics in urban spaces.

LGBTQ+ travelers actively seek out spaces and guides where they feel safe, respected, and represented. Many travelers are tired of superficial marketing ( "Rainbow Capitalism”) They want intellectual depth. A qualified historian who can speak about local history with academic rigor, rather than just pointing out gay bars, provides immense value.
